Long bio · 180 words

Oscar “Tito” Bolivar is a cultural producer from San Nicolas, Aruba, and Director and President of Pure Aruba Events Foundation. Inspired by a mural he saw in Bogotá in 2015, he started the Aruba Art Fair and the Aruba Mural Festival in 2016, inviting artists to paint the walls of his hometown, a former refinery town. Since then San Nicolas has gained more than 80 permanent murals and more than 700 artists have shown work at the fair. In 2019 Forbes called San Nicolas the Street Art Capital of the Caribbean. Bolivar went on to open ArtisA Gallery (2021) and Space21 (2023), to unite the island’s art events as Art Week Aruba (2022), and to start education programmes for young people and MiSO, a creative programme for women at the Korrektie Instituut Aruba. In 2025 he took eight Aruban artists to Red Dot Miami. Since October 2026 his foundation runs the Visitor Information Center San Nicolas with the Aruba Tourism Authority. In 2026 he was appointed Member of the Order of Orange-Nassau.
